Who we are
Catalika ("we", "us") provides shareable product catalogs for independent brands at catalika.com. Sellers create catalogs on their own subdomain; their customers browse those catalogs and place orders. This policy explains what data we collect from both sellers and their customers, and how we use it.
Data we collect from sellers
When you create an account we collect your name, email address and password (or your Google account email if you sign in with Google). While you use the product we store the content you add: brand details, product information, images and videos, categories, coupons, team member emails and settings such as your WhatsApp number and notification email.
Data we collect from shop visitors
When a visitor interacts with a seller's catalog, we ask for their name and phone number (email optional) before they can add items to a cart. When they place an order we also collect the order details and, if the seller requires it, a delivery address. This information is shared with the seller whose shop the visitor used — that is its purpose. We also record basic activity such as product views, carts and orders so the seller can see how their catalog performs.
How we use data
We use the data solely to run the service: showing catalogs, routing orders to sellers, sending order notification emails, showing sellers analytics about their own shop, and keeping accounts secure. We do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not use buyer data for advertising.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies for sign-in sessions and small pieces of local storage for things like your cart contents, theme preference and sidebar state. We use product analytics (PostHog) to understand how the app itself is used so we can improve it.
Where data lives / service providers
Data is processed by trusted infrastructure providers: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Amazon Web Services (hosting, AI processing for spreadsheet imports), Cloudflare (DNS), Mux (video streaming), Resend (transactional email), Google (optional sign-in) and PostHog (product analytics). Each provider processes data only to deliver its part of the service.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays as long as your account is active. If you want your account, your brand, or a specific buyer's data deleted, email data@catalika.com and we will remove it. Shop visitors can ask the seller they ordered from, or contact us directly.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing data@catalika.com.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and note the new date above.
